Morning Sweetheart's it's such a fine day,
We are not feeling grumpy this morning are we?
Oh someone's at the door. look who it is
Mrs jones is here, goes to the door.
Come on in, oh mrs jones you just sat on an egg.
I'll get you some tea and cakes,
And we'll have a little tea party shall we?
Oh sweetheart's you are taking too much time fixing
Evelything up. let me help you with all that,
Go and feed the dog's and horse's,
They must be hunger by now.
Some tea has fell all over the floor,
Oh sweetheart's see what you are doing,
Clean up all that mess. sweetheart come along now. we are...

“Bugged”
carriers take what’s rosaceous between
metacarpals and elbow
in there an alleged warmth not known now sown
the top heavy blessed with no response

I can still smell the flesh burning from his fingers
and the tattooed reflection descending from his face
as I watched the blood slowly draining away invisible eyes
staining his memory and vanishing without a trace
By an open window, an old man sits, with hands folded in prayer
the lines on his face bringing prudence to every thought
longing to be transported to a distant world that has yet to exist
still he could never bring to fruition the dreams he always sought
In a shower of amplified waves, screams Machiavelli's nightmare
as he glides the room, like a murderer, prison-freed ...

I can say it a million times
& in a million different ways
& it will never change the past
it can never bring back those days
And I can blame myself til the day I die
& live with this hurt & regret
& though it doesn’t do a bit of good
I can never seem to forget
You gave me the best days of my life
though they went by so fast
I never thought they’d come to an end
I always thought they’d last
I can still picture you walking down that aisle
looking like an angel in white
I swore I’d love you all the days of my life
& protect you with all my might
And you were the only one who understood me...

You were always so strong & full of life
It seemed like you would never get old,
Like you would be here forever
But now your end is drawing near
& I’m helpless to change it
I see you in a hospital room
Fighting to breathe,
Fighting to speak
Through an oxygen mask
& I wonder how much time left
We’ll have together
I just pray you’ll get better
I hate to see you looking this way
It’s not the same person I’ve always known
But I keep trying to tell myself
That if you were to die in your sleep tonight
That you had lived a long happy life
Which is better than most people see in this world
Still I...

After all this time and all those tears I once shed over you
The anger that I felt because you left me black and blue
Now out of thin air, you suddenly reappear
Sending me messages by email
And my mind begins racing with images of us that were no longer there
I never thought that I’d hear from you again in this life
I thought we’d caused too much bloodshed from the twist of a knife
But like a phoenix you arose from out of the blue
And triggered something in my heart
And I wonder why I keep having these feelings for you
Now you tell me you’re no longer with him these days
But there’s...

Last year was the 30th anniversary since the death of Elvis Presley. I still remember that day very clearly and can recall right where I was sitting and what I was doing. I was seven years old and the news hit me like a bolt of lightning. It was like losing a family member. Even at that young age, I knew something terrible had happened. That the world would never be the same again.
Thinking about that final decade of Elvis’ life, I’m struck by one thought. How autobiographical and heartfelt his recordings from that time are. At least the songs that deal with heartbreak and failed...

From some of the reviews I have read, it seems that there are alot of people out there who dislike this album. I think that is very unfortunate. I, for one, believe this album to be a work of art. Every time I listen to it, I find something new to marvel at. The arrangements, the lyrics, the choruses, the production. I think this album is their best one since Monster and I'm really starting to think that it might be one of their best ever. I don't know if it's because I've heard all of their other albums way too many times (although I still love them all of course) or if it's because I just...

It’s too bad you had to leave
You weren’t here long enough
It could have been a thousand years
It still wouldn’t have been enough
So many things I should have said to you
But I never had the courage
I could only say them to you
In your final moments of breath
And who knows if you heard me
As you crossed over into death
And here I sit alone at night
Thinking of you once again
Wondering where you are now
Can you see me from where you stand?
Have you reached the promised land?
Have you gone on to your great reward?
Is there a heaven?
Is there a Lord?
I hope you’re at peace,
No worries or...

This is one of Prince's most underrated albums in my opinion. Not only is it unheard by most people (except diehard Prince fans such as myself) but even Prince had little to do with it, as it was a contractual filler album, so that he could get out of his contract with Warner Bros (there are some unsubtle and obscure "clues" in the packaging - plus Prince states that the music was "originally intended 4 private use only").
This was released during his controversial "symbol" name days (walking around with "Slave" written across his cheek). It was not a good time to be a Prince fan, having to...

This album literally saved my life two years ago when I was going through a painful & depressing divorce. It was one of the few things that brought me any joy (REM's then-new Reveal was the other). Every day I would put it on & it would lift me up from the depths of my despair. It was the soundtrack to my life during the spring of 2001.
Thankfully those days are over now but I still never get tired of listening to this album, despite the bad memories it conjures up. I believe it to be a work of genius. This is by far the best album Clapton had released in many years (my own personal favorite...

Having been a big admirer of Paul Westerberg since 1985, when he was the leader of the late, great Replacements, I have never understood the level of criticism leveled at his solo albums....especially this album. There are many longtime fans out there who seem to slag off Eventually as being some piece of tame, lame middle of the road hackwork. Nothing can be further from the truth.
I think alot of it may be due to the raucous, drunken legacy of The Replacements, which is unfortunate. Nobody can be young & crazy forever. The ones who try, either die in their prime or grow to be 60 & still...
